GTA VI launches November 19 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. This video rounds up what Rockstar has actually confirmed: the story, the cast, the map, the music and the editions.
The video sticks to what Rockstar has confirmed: no leaks, and no guesses unless it says so. Here is what it covers, chapter by chapter.
The story
Rockstar’s own setup: Jason and Lucia have always known the deck is stacked against them. When an easy score goes wrong, they end up on the darkest side of the sunniest place in America, caught in a criminal conspiracy that stretches across the state of Leonida. Rockstar sums up the setting in three words: “Vice City, USA.”
Jason and Lucia
Jason Duval grew up around grifters and crooks. After a stint in the Army, he ended up in the Keys, working for local drug runners. Lucia Caminos’s father taught her to fight as soon as she could walk, and fighting for her family landed her in the Leonida Penitentiary. Sheer luck got her out.
The cast
Six more faces surround them: Cal Hampton, Brian Heder, Raul Bautista, Boobie Ike, Dre’Quan Priest and the duo Real Dimez. The cast guide has all eight.
Leonida
Rockstar’s site splits the state into six places: Vice City, the Leonida Keys, Grassrivers, Port Gellhorn, Ambrosia and Mount Kalaga. The regions guide covers each one.
The Extended Look
In August, Rockstar released An Extended Look, 26 minutes and 48 seconds of the game. Its HUD shows markers under the wanted stars for what the police know about you: camera footage, your crew, your outfit, your face, your car and your weapon.
The music
Rockstar calls it the biggest and widest-ranging selection of in-game radio and podcasts yet. Six stations have been previewed, and The Album arrives November 19 with 34 original tracks.
Launch and editions
Pre-loading opens November 12 at local midnight. Boxed copies carry a download code instead of a disc. In the US, Take-Two prices the Standard Edition at $79.99 and the Ultimate Edition at $99.99, and every pre-order gets the Vintage Vice City Pack. The editions guide has the details.
Still a rumor
On October 26, insider NateTheHate claimed that review code is going out to the media, with a review embargo on November 18. Rockstar and Take-Two haven’t confirmed it.
