GTA VI comes out on November 19, 2026, on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Pre-load opens November 10. The whole launch in one place.
When does GTA VI come out?
On November 19, 2026: the date on Rockstar’s own site and in its support pages. Rockstar has not announced at what time the game unlocks on launch day. We add the time here as soon as Rockstar gives it. The countdown at the bottom of this page counts the days.
Pre-load opens November 10
Digital pre-loading begins on Tuesday, November 10, 2026, so the game is ready to play on launch day. Rockstar announced the date on its Newswire on November 3:
- PS5: at midnight local time, in your own time zone.
- Xbox Series X|S: worldwide at 12 a.m. GMT, which is the evening of Monday, November 9 in the US. Start times per city.
That is two days earlier than the November 12 on Rockstar’s support page, which still listed the old date on November 3. The pre-load file needs up to 212 GB, depending on the device.
Boxed copies go on sale at retailers from November 12. The box holds a download code, not a disc. Redeem the code and the game pre-loads like a digital copy.
Which platforms?
Rockstar lists two: PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. PS4, Xbox One and PC are not on that list, and Rockstar has not announced a PC version.
Editions and price
There are two editions, Standard and Ultimate. In the US, Take-Two prices the Standard Edition at $79.99 and the Ultimate Edition at $99.99. Standard owners can buy the Ultimate Edition Upgrade later, from the PlayStation or Microsoft store. There is no boxed Ultimate Edition.

Pre-order bonus
Digital pre-orders, and digital purchases made before November 20, 2026, include the Vintage Vice City Pack and one month of GTA+. The pack holds the ’55 Vapid Stanier with a garage, outfits and hairstyles, and an exclusive weapon pattern. Boxed pre-orders get the same pack, without the month of GTA+.
Region locks
On PlayStation, a download code only works with a PlayStation account from the region where it was sold. Xbox codes are not region-locked. Rockstar advises buying from a retailer in the country of your platform account.
